I am particularly interested in why chronic psychosocial stress negatively influences well-being, whereas physical exercise, which can also be defined as physical stress, keeps body and mind healthy. I am trying to understand this better through detailed examination of biological pathways on various levels: Looking at genetic and epigenetic variation, exploring different RNA and protein expressions, and investigating cell-free DNA and extracellular vesicles.
